I guess that's the key issue with this whole gun debate. Few people have an issue with responsible people owning firearms. It's enabling the irresponsible ones that many people are upset about. Having a 9 year old firing an Uzi like firearm could be considered irresponsible.

Yeah, I'm all for shooting stuff but a 9 year old should not be shooting full automatic firearms. It is cool teaching kids how to shoot, but really is there a need for them to fire on full auto? It really is a lapse of judgement on the part of the range to allow that.
I must reiterate, I like shooting guns. I find it very calming to pop off a few rounds and smell the scent of gun powder in the morning.

If you live in certain parts of the US, kids should know how to handle guns so that when they are at their friend's house or wherever and some irresponsible adult has left a gun out, they know experientially that it is not a toy and how to avoid doing anything unsafe with it.

60s maybe after their lengthy jail sentence. Kids shouldn't be allowed near guns, this isn't an airsoft or paintball gun this was a full auto Uzi that's use has only been to kill and never to hunt.
